About 15 miles from the Kona International Airport sites the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa. This resort is next to the Mauna Loa Resort but closer to the ocean. This resort is a series of small building with less than 10 units per building. There are several pools around the property. The pools are small, but they have a jacuzzi as well. But there are plenty of pools so it makes it feel like you have a small place almost to yourself.
The rooms are quite large and the points are quite low. If you don’t mind walking to the ocean or driving to the beach you will like this place… It is about 20 minute walk to groceries and also where you can catch the free trolley into Kona.
