Timeshare Traveler Episode 43 Hike to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse near Long Beach Washington

If you get a chance to do a hike on the Southern coast of Washington, be sure to check out the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse or the Lewis and Clark interpretive center for a fee.  The trees are beautiful and the hike is less than a mile. There is a lot of History at the mouth of the Columbia River as it exits into the Pacific.  This is where Lewis and Clark came to at the end of their journey at the pacific Ocean.  Today it is a shipping lane for cargo.

The walk from the parking lot is about 3/4 of a mile with a little elevation change both uphill and downhill.  Be sure to stop on the way to the lighthouse to head down to the beach.  Be sure to follow the path as I did because they have built out a trail to make the access easier.  Once you get up to the lighthouse you have a wonderful view of the headlands as well as the Pacific Ocean.
