I love the big island because of its rugged beauty. A lot of the natural beauty is easily accessible as it is one of the least built out islands. One of my favorite walks is leaving from Hilton Waikoloa and walking a path that eventually leads you to the Lava Lava Club. It is a winding path along the coral and lava rocks.
The hike has many different features I love. There are wonderful tide pools to explore… But also, the path is completely different when it is high tide or low tide. At high tide you are often walking one to two feet from the waters edge and you often have to step over dead trees or large lava rocks. It is not dangerous but more rugged. At low tide, you have a chance to walk along the rocks and check out the tide pools along the shore. The video I made was closer to high tide, so please enjoy the walk… And hopefully some day you can enjoy the walk also.
