I had a enjoyable stay at the Marriott’s Newport Villas in Newport Beach, Ca. (just south of Los Angeles). I really enjoyed relaxing by the pool, using the grills, and the wonderful 2 bedroom Villa. You can view the ocean from the pool area. My unit was nestled in a grove of trees, but you could see the ocean thru the trees.

It is just a short walk (1/4 mile or so) to the Chrystal Cove Park where you can walk to the ocean or walk along the paths near the shore. There are ramps down to the beach and it is a perfect place to watch the sunset.
